Glistening Black

Well, you might already know about my “obsession” with Wovenhand and the works of the mighty David Eugene Edwards. Today I would like to share with you another highlight from the Wovenhand catalogue. “Glistening Black” is another masterpiece from the “The Laughing Stalk”, Wovenhand´s release from 2012. Just another great song that is live even more intense and rockin´. Enjoy!

Wovenhand is alive and kickin´

Just ordered my copy of the new Wovenhand album and man, it sure kicks some serious ass. Say what? You have never heard of Wovenhand? Let me fill you in: Wovenhand is the brainchild of David Eugene Edwards and acts as the mastermind behind the band. Edwards is lead singer, main songwriter and the principal musician on the recordings of Wovenhand. He might be better known for his former band 16 Horsepower. Although many labels have been applied to his music, it defies simple genre categorization, including elements of old-time, folk, punk, medieval, gypsy and Native American music. Lyrically, it deals with pain, conflict, faith, and redemption, with Edwards’ personal beliefs influencing much of the lyrical imagery. Check out “Hiss” from the latest album “Refractory Obdurate” and tell me what you think.
